[1914-1918]

Montgomery started Anne of the Island (1915) in September 1913 and finished in November 1914.
Montgomery wrote Anne's House of Dreams (1917) in 1916.
She wrote Rainbow Valley (1919) from the autumn of 1917 through 1918.
She published a book of poetry, The Watchman and Other Poems, in 1916.
She published "The Alpine Path: The Story of My Career" for Everywoman's World in 1917.
"Between the beginning of World War 1 in July 1914 through its end in November 1918, L.M. Montgomery wrote and published two novels (and finished up a third); she also published a volume of poetry with mostly previously printed poems but quite a few new ones; she published at least six new short stories; and 38 new poems. In addition, she wrote and published a biographical serial and two essays."
